What’s a typical day like for you at work? And how do you feel about the work you do?

As a project manager, I enjoy the different challenges each day brings. Whether it’s delivering materials to the various jobs going on or negotiating with contractors and suppliers. I need to check in regularly with all my colleagues to make sure they have everything they need, and I am more than happy to lend a hand where needed.

 

What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?

I have over 15 years of experience as a qualified builder and over 10 years as a foreman. I would say I have good technical expertise from completing a vast range of construction projects, from a farm shed to a multi-million dollar commercial build. I have good problem-solving skills, which help when any issues arise on a job, and we might need to change how it was originally planned.

 

What do you like/enjoy about your work?

I enjoy managing a project from start to finish and being able to help the younger colleagues out where I can to help their skills grow. I like the variety of jobs and being able to plan out each stage to keep on track for completion.

Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about? Or what do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy being outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, diving or spending time with the family.

 

What’s a goal you have for yourself that you want to achieve?

I have just achieved building our own family home, and I would like to do another in the future as well as purchasing a rental property.
